Spectators: 7411 (Terracing: 5559, Seating: 1704, VIP seats: 148) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Calistrat Budișteanu kicked off to start the match. Paul Uncuţă dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. With his leg Eusebiu Balint managed to avoid a goal in the 12thth minute, when STEAUA's Armin Nardi fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Nicodim Burdea managed to get in a good position for a shot. STEAUA's supporters rose to their feet, but Nicodim Burdea was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eusebiu Balint breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Robert Simion fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bugaru's protests and gave Robert Simion a yellow card for diving instead. 17 minutes into the game, one of Bugaru:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 20 minutes, STEAUA's Mihail Constantin got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Eusebiu Balint. In the 23rdth minute of the game Armin Nardi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bugaru's Eusebiu Balint was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 23rd match minute, Bugaru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dacian Costandin to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rareș Petrin during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Paul Uncuţă made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Paul Uncuţă showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Calistrat Budișteanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Armin Nardi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Paul Uncuţă showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sandu Tărbac, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. 58 minutes into the match, Octav Mîțu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Paul Uncuţă. STEAUA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Octav Mîțu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Octav Mîțu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paul Uncuţă having to interfere. In the 68th minute, Nicodim Burdea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cosmin Groza was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 68th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 72nd minute Calistrat Budișteanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paul Uncuţă saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Nicodim Burdea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Octav Mîțu got free with Paul Uncuţă in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nicodim Burdea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eusebiu Balint having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Armin Nardi in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eusebiu Balint prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Calistrat Budișteanu was extremely unlucky when he, in the 86th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Bugaru's Dacian Costandin got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The STEAUA fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Bugaru were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
