Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Tanislavul CF's Pavel Gordunescu started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Pavel Gordunescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Mugurel Zaharia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mihail Onea hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pavel Gordunescu in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mugurel Zaharia saved Piatra AFC from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ilie Teodoroiu got free with Vlad Șora in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mugurel Zaharia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Irinel Siadbei, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Mugurel Zaharia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pavel Gordunescu in the 22nd minute of the match. After 39 minutes of play, Tanislavul CF's Irinel Siadbei made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gigi Negulici hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. After the first half Tanislavul CF were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pompiliu Preda was the one to do the kick off. Mugurel Zaharia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pavel Gordunescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Pavel Gordunescu came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Tanislavul CF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pavel Gordunescu couldn't finish the play. If Irinel Siadbei had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Tanislavul CF's Pavel Gordunescu slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Mugurel Zaharia. That made the score 1-3 after 61 minutes of play. After a rather tough play, Tanislavul CF's Petrică Giosu got a free kick in the 64th minute. Pompiliu Preda might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vlad Șora. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pompiliu Preda ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 67 minutes, Ilie Teodoroiu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ionel Dicu's late challenge caught a Tanislavul CF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ionel Dicu helped the player get up and apologised. The Tanislavul CF supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Tanislavul CF would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
