Valentin Asachi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gabi Balint in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Valentin Asachi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, -RAF- FC Bubulinii's Grigore Calomfirescu got a free kick in the 17th minute. In the 20th minute, Viorel Mailat hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 21 minutes into the match, Gabi Balint had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Valentin Asachi. -RAF- FC Bubulinii's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gabi Balint was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. The supporters of Steaua București booed when -RAF- FC Bubulinii was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Denis Fânaru didn't get a good kick on the ball. Codrin Văcaru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valentin Asachi having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Codrin Văcaru's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Valentin Asachi was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. Codrin Văcaru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valentin Asachi having to interfere. Viorel Mailat was shown his second yellow card after 62 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 64 played minutes, Steaua București's Corneliu Jivulescu shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Valentin Asachi came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Steaua București reached it. In the 65th minute, Codrin Văcaru ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Valentin Asachi was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. After a defensive mix-up in -RAF- FC Bubulinii's zone, Gabi Balint stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valentin Asachi came out of the goal and Gabi Balint tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Valentin Asachi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gabi Balint in the 70th minute of the match. In the 71st match minute, -RAF- FC Bubulinii was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victor Ciolpan to maneuver through the defense. 76 minutes into the match, Steaua București's Gabi Balint sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Valentin Asachi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 78 minutes, Gabi Balint made it 0-4 with a short kick to the right side. -RAF- FC Bubulinii's Valentin Asachi tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 82ndth minute of the game Gabi Balint who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but -RAF- FC Bubulinii's Valentin Asachi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Gabi Balint kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Valentin Asachi. That made the score 0-6 in the 88 minute of play. Valentin Asachi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabi Balint, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Steaua București's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
