Petre Mărăscu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Basarab Rogozea in the 3rd minute of play. In the 7th minute, Nicodim Neagoe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Vasoaia booed when Karpatos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robert Pătran didn't get a good kick on the ball. It was beautiful to see Vasoaia's Maxim Aluncai in action when he in the 13th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Karpatos FC's Petre Mărăscu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Basarab Rogozea in the 18th minute of play. Bogdan Pipirig received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Dorel Pârcălab tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Basarab Rogozea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maxim Băsescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Petre Mărăscu having to interfere. Maxim Băsescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Petre Mărăscu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 42 played minutes Vasoaia got a freekick which was hit by Maxim Istrăteanu. Valentin Budianu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Dorel Pârcălab tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Maxim Băsescu in the 48th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Petre Mărăscu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Valentin Budianu made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Laurențiu Milea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Maxim Băsescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Petre Mărăscu made a huge save. Călin Cămărășan's late challenge caught a Karpatos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Călin Cămărășan helped the player get up and apologised. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bogdan Pipirig in the 59th minute of play forced Vasoaia's goalkeeper Dorel Pârcălab to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Maxim Băsescu came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Vasoaia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Maxim Băsescu couldn't finish the play. After 73 minutes of play, Vasoaia's Maxim Băsescu made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Petre Mărăscu was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 80 minutes, Octav Popoacă mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vasoaia and the Karpatos FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Vasoaia's Octav Popoacă got a free kick in the 80th minute. Dorel Pârcălab showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valentin Budianu, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Flavius Preda charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Flavius Preda the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Flavius Preda kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Maxim Băsescu succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-2 in the 86th playminute. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Valentin Budianu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Karpatos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Valentin Budianu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dorel Pârcălab breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Karpatos FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Vasoaia's performance. The match ended with a win for Vasoaia.
