Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Eric Simionescu started the match with the kick off. FC Mangalia's Daniel Lăzan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save FC Mangalia from getting a goal against them. Matei Birișu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Niculae Balint tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eric Simionescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Daniel Lăzan made a huge save. A sloppy throw-in by Sabin Şimandan in the 13th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Steaua's Manole Brădean. FC Mangalia's Daniel Lăzan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ciprian Hurgoi in the 17th minute of play. After 17 played minutes FC Mangalia got a freekick which was hit by Mădălin Stroiescu. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dan Mihuleac got free with Daniel Lăzan in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, FC Mangalia's Irinel Marincean got a free kick in the 20th minute. In the 25th minute Eric Simionescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Lăzan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Niculae Balint took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tudor Ignătoiu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 32 minutes into the match, FC Mangalia's goal looked a bit too open when Eric Simionescu came free, but Daniel Lăzan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Dan Mihuleac could shoot a difficult shot in the 33rd minute, which Daniel Lăzan however easily saved by the left post. FC Mangalia's defense didn't have a chance, in the 36th minute, when Eric Simionescu scored to the left of an out of position Daniel Lăzan, making the score, 1-0. Daniel Lăzan made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Eric Simionescu sent off a good shot on target.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Matei Birișu was the one to do the kick off. Sorin Ţăranu was shown his second yellow card after 63 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Sorin Ţăranu kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Daniel Lăzan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eric Simionescu in the 67th minute of play. After 91 minutes of play, Steaua's Eric Simionescu made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Daniel Lăzan was left in no man's land by his defense there! Steaua walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
