After having played for 13 minutes, Niculae Turcu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Calimanesti's supporters crossed their fingers, but Niculae Turcu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Liviu Baniciu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Calimanesti's supporters rose to their feet, but Liviu Baniciu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mircea Hojbota breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Teliu AC's Mircea Hojbota played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Petre Harhoiu in the 16th minute of play. Niculae Turcu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 21 played minutes Teliu AC got a freekick which was hit by Constantin Păstrăv. After some careless play in the Teliu AC defense, Niculae Turcu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mircea Hojbota. The Teliu AC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mircea Hojbota should have stopped the shot. In the 25th minute Petre Harhoiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mircea Hojbota saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Calimanesti's Tarık Belen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cazimir Pordea in the 26th minute of play. Mircea Hojbota took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Liviu Baniciu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Matei Trăiloiu struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Mircea Hojbota didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Calimanesti. Niculae Turcu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tarık Belen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cazimir Pordea in the 36th minute of play. The supporters of Calimanesti booed when Teliu AC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dumitru Chitimia didn't get a good kick on the ball. 39 minutes into the match, Teliu AC's goal looked a bit too open when Liviu Baniciu came free, but Mircea Hojbota reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Constantin Păstrăv fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tarık Belen having to interfere. Liviu Baniciu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Teliu AC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Calimanesti were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cazimir Pordea to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Liviu Baniciu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mircea Hojbota saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Petre Harhoiu got free with Mircea Hojbota in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mircea Hojbota made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Niculae Turcu sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matei Trăiloiu in the 65th minute of play forced Teliu AC's goalkeeper Mircea Hojbota to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 67 minutes, Matei Trăiloiu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Calimanesti and the Teliu AC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Mircea Hojbota was out of position in the 69 minute of play, and Petre Harhoiu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Petre Harhoiu really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. Liviu Baniciu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Niculae Turcu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cazimir Pordea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tarık Belen having to interfere. Calimanesti's Petre Harhoiu got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Niculae Turcu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mircea Hojbota having to make a save. Petre Harhoiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Liviu Baniciu in the 95th minute of play forced Teliu AC's goalkeeper Mircea Hojbota to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Teliu AC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Calimanesti were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
