Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Manuel Vâlcu started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Tarchilă in the 6th minute of play forced Rau's goalkeeper Codrin Ciulei to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Rau's Petrică Răuțu tried to score from far away in the 11th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The supporters of Rau booed when Velea was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rareș Leluțiu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 17th minute, Aurel Gane left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rau fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Francisc Luca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manuel Vâlcu, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Felix Tarchilă put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Codrin Ciulei. After some careless play in the Velea defense, Aurel Gane kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Francisc Luca. The Velea fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Francisc Luca should have stopped the shot. If Florin Porumbescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 44th minute, Anton Barboni hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Florin Porumbescu was the one to do the kick off. After 51 minutes, Narcis Ciprian mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Velea and the Rau players grew even worse after the yellow card. 51 minutes into the game, one of Velea:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. A very good chance. 64 minutes into the game, Corneliu Pelin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rau's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Velea the free kick. Francisc Luca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aurel Gane in the 67th minute of the match. In the 85th minute, Aurel Gane got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Rau had won after a very even match.
