Spectators: 7352 (Terracing: 5515, Seating: 1690, VIP seats: 147) Ovidiu Mustățea started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Gică Dragomir blasted a shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dorel Flamaropol having to make a save. Gică Dragomir fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dorel Flamaropol having to interfere. Iustinian Puric fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dorel Flamaropol having to interfere. In the 12th match minute, Caita FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silviu Ostoici to maneuver through the defense. After 16 played minutes FC Sibiu got a freekick which was hit by Romeo Băsescu. Ovidiu Mustățea did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-1 to the left of a surprised Sever Sava 21 minutes into the match. After having played for 26 minutes, Ovidiu Mustățea managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caita FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ovidiu Mustățea was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ovidiu Mustățea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Sever Sava tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Gică Dragomir managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Sibiu's supporters rose to their feet, but Gică Dragomir was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dorel Flamaropol breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Iustinian Puric had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Iustinian Puric received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Dorel Flamaropol tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of FC Sibiu booed when Caita FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silviu Ostoici didn't get a good kick on the ball. When FC Sibiu's Gică Dragomir, in the 39th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for FC Sibiu. Dorel Flamaropol showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iustinian Puric in the 41st minute of the match. Alexandru Ţiriac fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sever Sava having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Iustinian Puric to make the kick off. When FC Sibiu's Adrian Negrescu in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Caita FC's goalie prevented a goal. Iustinian Puric received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Caita FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Sibiu the free kick. Silviu Ostoici kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. FC Sibiu's Romeo Băsescu couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Caita FC. After a defensive mix-up in Caita FC's zone, Iustinian Puric stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dorel Flamaropol came out of the goal and Iustinian Puric tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dorel Flamaropol made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Gică Dragomir sent off a good shot on target. Gelu Bogdănescu kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Romeo Băsescu, 80 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Iustinian Puric's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dorel Flamaropol read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. 86 minutes into the match, Caita FC's Alexandru Ţiriac sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sever Sava narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gică Dragomir could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Dorel Flamaropol made a huge save. 94 minutes into the game, Gică Dragomir lined in a short shot 1-2 behind a frustrated Dorel Flamaropol. FC Sibiu played a much better game than Caita FC and deserved their victory. The Caita FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
