The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of FC RadeK booed when AF Targoviste was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lucian Teişanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 13th minute, Cristian Cosoreanu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 22 minutes into the game, Damian Cărtărescu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC RadeK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AF Targoviste the free kick. A collision led to FC RadeK getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. AF Targoviste's Niculae Nisporeanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anton Arghirescu in the 25th minute of play. FC RadeK's Alin Doinaș suffered a sore thigh after 41 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cristinel Iuga during the 41st minute. Niculae Nisporeanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 84th minute of the match, Martin Teodorescu tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Felix Ploieșteanu saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 90th match minute, FC RadeK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gheorghe Banica to maneuver through the defense. Nichifor Eremia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Emanuel Isăceanu managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC RadeK's supporters rose to their feet, but Emanuel Isăceanu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Niculae Nisporeanu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. AF Targoviste's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
