Ionuț Mihălțan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Codrin Penaru showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ionuț Mihălțan in the 13th minute of the match. When Flavius Aliuta fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Borussia Dortmund's protests and gave Flavius Aliuta a yellow card for diving instead. In the 14th minute, Flavius Aliuta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Iacob Levința showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victor Hoancă, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. After 26 played minutes Iclanzeiu got a freekick which was hit by Emanuel Creangă. Through an outstanding action, after 29 minutes, Iacob Levința successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Iacob Levința made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Vali Albu sent off a good shot on target. In the 40th minute, Victor Hoancă fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Emanuel Creangă kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Iclanzeiu's zone, Vali Albu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iacob Levința came out of the goal and Vali Albu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Victor Hoancă was the one to do the kick off. If Victor Hoancă had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victor Hoancă in the 69th minute of play forced Iclanzeiu's goalkeeper Iacob Levința to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 72nd minute Vali Albu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iacob Levința saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Iacob Levința took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vali Albu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 78 minutes into the game, Victor Hoancă cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Iacob Levința was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Nicodim Almăgean hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Petru Stanomir kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. The supporters of Iclanzeiu booed when Borussia Dortmund was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valentin Rădulescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 92nd minute Vali Albu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iacob Levința saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Iacob Levința showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victor Hoancă, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute.
