In the 14th minute Daniel Târban shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manole Balint saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ionuț Mihălțan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manole Balint having to interfere. Petru Stanomir kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Emanuel Creangă kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Sandu Trişcu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Iacob Levința came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by DRK's David Herescu. But to his dismay, David Herescu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 42nd match minute, DRK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonard Albu to maneuver through the defense. If Daniel Târban had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sandu Trişcu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 48 minutes, Sandu Trişcu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. DRK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sandu Trişcu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half DRK were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and David Herescu made a kick off. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind Iclanzeiu's goalkeeper Iacob Levința, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Emanuel Creangă fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manole Balint having to interfere. Daniel Târban fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manole Balint having to interfere. If David Herescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. DRK's Sandu Trişcu got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A well-hit corner resulted in Costin Bunoaică heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Manole Balint took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Târban, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 91st minute David Herescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iacob Levința saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. David Herescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iacob Levința having to interfere. 97 minutes into the match, Iclanzeiu's goalkeeper Iacob Levința had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sandu Trişcu. Iacob Levința was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Sandu Trişcu showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 97 minute of play. The DRK supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing DRK would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
