Manole Balint showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ciprian Chibulcutean, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. In the 11th minute of the match Emanuel Herea sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Doru Hogaș skillfully saved the ball. After having played for 15 minutes, Cristian Săndoi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Izvorasu AC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Săndoi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 16 minutes into the game, Cristi Şania cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Manole Balint was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. David Herescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Doru Hogaș tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 21st minute, Sandu Trişcu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 24th minute, Cristi Şania got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With his leg Doru Hogaș managed to avoid a goal in the 28thth minute, when DRK's Sandu Trişcu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 34th match minute, DRK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonard Albu to maneuver through the defense. After 37 minutes, Paul Ceaușescu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Izvorasu AC and the DRK players grew even worse after the yellow card. Paul Ceaușescu kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. When DRK's David Herescu in the 41st minute got a chance for a shot 41st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Izvorasu AC's goalie prevented a goal. After 42 played minutes Izvorasu AC got a freekick which was hit by Corneliu Zbora. Doru Hogaș took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Herescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Ciprian Chibulcutean made the kick off in the second half. Damian Buzoianu hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. In the 53rd minute, Ovidiu Hrib sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Izvorasu AC's Doru Hogaș didn't even have to move. Sandu Trişcu struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Doru Hogaș didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for DRK. 57 minutes into the match, David Herescu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Doru Hogaș. Izvorasu AC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that David Herescu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Emanuel Herea took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 60th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Doru Hogaș. Izvorasu AC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling David Herescu in the 63rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Doru Hogaș prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers David Herescu in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Doru Hogaș saved Izvorasu AC from getting behind. Cristi Şania sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ciprian Chibulcutean sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee showed Damian Buzoianu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 79 played minutes Izvorasu AC got a freekick which was hit by Damian Buzoianu. Ovidiu Hrib, 80 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Traian Arșanu charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Traian Arșanu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 83rd minute, one of Izvorasu AC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Izvorasu AC. The referee gave DRK a penalty, 85 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ovidiu Hrib, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Izvorasu AC's Doru Hogaș. 3-1. In the 96th minute Ciprian Chibulcutean shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manole Balint saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 98 minutes, Cristi Şania managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Izvorasu AC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristi Şania was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The DRK fans cheered their team off the field, for while Izvorasu AC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
