Basarab Jula might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Codrin Stroescu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Basarab Jula ran back to his position shaking his head. After 19 played minutes, Dagata's Constantin Grămescu shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Marius Zăreanu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Dagata reached it. When Gabriel Albulescu got free in front of the goal in the 23rd minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Codrin Stroescu was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Marius Zăreanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victor Vuşcan in the 25th minute of the match. Marius Zăreanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ion Cioacă, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. When Dagata's Victor Vuşcan in the 30th minute got a chance for a shot 30th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Vagany's goalie prevented a goal. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vagany's goalkeeper Marius Zăreanu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gabriel Albulescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Codrin Stroescu having to interfere. In the 42nd match minute, Vagany was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tiberiu Romulus to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Vagany defense, Victor Vuşcan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marius Zăreanu. The Vagany fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marius Zăreanu should have stopped the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
After a defensive mix-up in Vagany's zone, Victor Vuşcan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marius Zăreanu came out of the goal and Victor Vuşcan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 54th minute, Victor Vuşcan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gabriel Albulescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Codrin Stroescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gabriel Albulescu in the 62nd minute of play forced Dagata's goalkeeper Codrin Stroescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With his leg Marius Zăreanu managed to avoid a goal in the 68thth minute, when Dagata's Victor Vuşcan fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Leontin Unchiaşu came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Dagata fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leontin Unchiaşu couldn't finish the play. After 71 minutes, Victor Vuşcan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Dagata and the Vagany players grew even worse after the yellow card. Constantin Grămescu hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. In the 77thth minute of the game Gabriel Albulescu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dagata's Codrin Stroescu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 83 minutes, Gabriel Albulescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vagany's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gabriel Albulescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Codrin Stroescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabriel Albulescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sergiu Bulencea charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sergiu Bulencea the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 91st minute, one of Vagany:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Vagany. The goalkeeper, Marius Zăreanu, was totally fooled by Dagata's Ionel Petruț, who 94 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. If Basarab Jula had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Dagata eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
