After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Mihnea Muscă managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC STEAUA's supporters rose to their feet, but Mihnea Muscă was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Matei Zburliş breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vasile Ignat stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Augustin Nistor. 0-1. Emanuel Tomescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 23 minutes into the match, FC STEAUA's goal looked a bit too open when Octav Donose came free, but Augustin Nistor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 24th match minute, FC STEAUA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maxim Miclea to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Octav Donose during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Octav Donose hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Emanuel Tomescu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gusu's Matei Zburliş played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mihnea Muscă in the 66th minute of play. When Mihnea Muscă came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the FC STEAUA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mihnea Muscă couldn't finish the play. In the 71st minute Octav Donose shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Augustin Nistor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 83rd minute Mihnea Muscă shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matei Zburliş saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 85th minute, Emanuel Tomescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Augustin Nistor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 96 minutes into the match, Nichifor Păuceanu notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of FC STEAUA's Augustin Nistor. Augustin Nistor was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
