Spectators: 7126 (Terracing: 5586, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 40) After a defensive mix-up in FC Ripensia Timișoara's zone, Iulian Şoltuz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Horaţiu Daimacă came out of the goal and Iulian Şoltuz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gösta Bolander received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Cristinel Zgabei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the FC Ripensia Timișoara defense, Alexandru Lupoi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Horaţiu Daimacă. The FC Ripensia Timișoara fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Horaţiu Daimacă should have stopped the shot. In the 24th minute Iulian Şoltuz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Horaţiu Daimacă saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Horaţiu Daimacă took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cornel Gheorghiță, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Lăzărescu in the 26th minute of play forced FC Ripensia Timișoara's goalkeeper Horaţiu Daimacă to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 28th play minute Gösta Bolander came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Cristinel Zgabei. 1-2. Gösta Bolander recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gösta Bolander to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Felix Lăzărescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Horaţiu Daimacă saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Horaţiu Daimacă showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Lăzărescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. In the 57th minute, Alexandru Lupoi reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Horaţiu Daimacă. The goal made the score 3-3. The long shot by Alexandru Lupoi in the 64th minute really tested Horaţiu Daimacă's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. If Aristide Bălcescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 75th minute Felix Lăzărescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Horaţiu Daimacă saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 76 minutes into the match, Felix Lăzărescu dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Horaţiu Daimacă, 4-4. Aristide Bălcescu struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Cristinel Zgabei didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Ripensia Timișoara. Thanks to some nice moves Iulian Şoltuz could shoot a difficult shot in the 85th minute, which Horaţiu Daimacă however easily saved by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Lăzărescu in the 88th minute of play forced FC Ripensia Timișoara's goalkeeper Horaţiu Daimacă to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Gösta Bolander managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Ripensia Timișoara's supporters rose to their feet, but Gösta Bolander was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristinel Zgabei breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aristide Bălcescu in the 96th minute of play forced Glimbocelu's goalkeeper Cristinel Zgabei to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the FC Ripensia Timișoara players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
