Spectators: 7537 (Terracing: 5654, Seating: 1733, VIP seats: 150) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Viorel Stănoiu took the kick off in the first half of the match. 5 minutes into the game, Nicolae Vasiliu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Augustin Nistor was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Nicolae Vasiliu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Petelei AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Nicolae Vasiliu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Augustin Nistor breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Augustin Nistor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicolae Vasiliu, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Emanuel Tomescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel Tomescu in the 16th minute of play forced Petelei AFC's goalkeeper Valer Răduț to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sorin Lalescu kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Petelei AFC's Nicolae Vasiliu got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nicolae Vasiliu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augustin Nistor having to interfere. Augustin Nistor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Viorel Stănoiu in the 24th minute of play. If Viorel Stănoiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC STEAUA's goalkeeper Augustin Nistor, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Viorel Stănoiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Viorel Stănoiu took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Augustin Nistor. Augustin Nistor dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. In the 44th minute Viorel Stănoiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Augustin Nistor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Augustin Nistor came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by Petelei AFC's Viorel Stănoiu. But to his dismay, Viorel Stănoiu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Emanuel Tomescu was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Petelei AFC's Viorel Stănoiu dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-4. Valer Răduț made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emanuel Tomescu in the 57th minute of play. Valer Răduț showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mihnea Muscă in the 58th minute of the match. After 65 minutes, Maxim Miclea mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC STEAUA and the Petelei AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 65 played minutes FC STEAUA got a freekick which was hit by Maxim Miclea. FC STEAUA's Augustin Nistor proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save FC STEAUA from getting a goal against them. After 68 minutes of play FC STEAUA's Maxim Miclea was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 69 played minutes FC STEAUA got a freekick which was hit by Maxim Miclea. Nicolae Vasiliu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of FC STEAUA booed when Petelei AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rareș Taşcu didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Emanuel Tomescu fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC STEAUA's protests and gave Emanuel Tomescu a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Petelei AFC booed when FC STEAUA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emanuel Tomescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. 82 minutes into the game, Viorel Stănoiu recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Augustin Nistor. Viorel Stănoiu showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-5. Nicolae Vasilius short, quick shot in the 85thth minute got Augustin Nistor to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 0-6 became the score in the 89th minute when Viorel Stănoiu elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Viorel Stănoiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The FC STEAUA fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Petelei AFC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
