Horaţiu Daimacă took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicolae Vasiliu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Manuel Bejan during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 9th minute, Manuel Bejan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Horaţiu Daimacă came out of the goal and Nicolae Vasiliu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Horaţiu Daimacă made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicolae Vasiliu in the 27th minute of play. Valentin Bărnuțiu scored 0-3 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Horaţiu Daimacă, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nicolae Vasiliu in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Horaţiu Daimacă prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viorel Stănoiu in the 39th minute of play forced FC Ripensia Timișoara's goalkeeper Horaţiu Daimacă to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FC Ripensia Timișoara's Horaţiu Daimacă played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valentin Bărnuțiu in the 41st minute of play. When Laurențiu Curtean fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Ripensia Timișoara's protests and gave Laurențiu Curtean a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, FC Ripensia Timișoara's Laurențiu Curtean got a free kick in the 45th minute. Petelei AFC's Nicolae Vasiliu got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Viorel Stănoiu was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 54 minutes, Aristide Bălcescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Ripensia Timișoara's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aristide Bălcescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aristide Bălcescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Valer Răduț tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FC Ripensia Timișoara's Horaţiu Daimacă proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save FC Ripensia Timișoara from getting a goal against them. Horaţiu Daimacă made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Damian Tomescu sent off a good shot on target. Marin Chesaru kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. After 69 played minutes FC Ripensia Timișoara got a freekick which was hit by Marin Chesaru. In the 70th minute, Nicolae Vasiliu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gösta Bolander fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valer Răduț having to interfere. Aristide Bălcescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Horaţiu Daimacă acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 82nd minute, took the ball on the long shot from David Timofte. Horaţiu Daimacă came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by Petelei AFC's Damian Tomescu. But to his dismay, Damian Tomescu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Horaţiu Daimacă was out of position in the 89 minute of play, and Viorel Stănoiu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Viorel Stănoiu really showed his touch with that goal: 0-5. Petelei AFC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
