Spectators: 7493 (Terracing: 5621, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 149) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Emanuel Tomescu got the match started through his kick off. The FC Ripensia Timișoara fans' excitement grew in the 4th match minute when FC Ripensia Timișoara's Aristide Bălcescu looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Aristide Bălcescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Horaţiu Daimacă took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emanuel Tomescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match clock showed 10 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Gösta Bolander sped through FC STEAUA's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Augustin Nistor. Gösta Bolander sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gösta Bolander received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Augustin Nistor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aristide Bălcescu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Augustin Nistor read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. In the 23rd minute Aristide Bălcescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Augustin Nistor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Moise Brumaru kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. When FC Ripensia Timișoara's Gösta Bolander in the 26th minute got a chance for a shot 26th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Horaţiu Daimacă showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maxim Miclea in the 30th minute of the match. 33 minutes into the match, FC STEAUA's goal looked a bit too open when Gösta Bolander came free, but Augustin Nistor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FC Ripensia Timișoara's Horaţiu Daimacă played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maxim Miclea in the 34th minute of play. Gösta Bolander fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augustin Nistor having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nicodim Crașovan during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 39th minute, Nicodim Crașovan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. FC STEAUA's Augustin Nistor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aristide Bălcescu in the 40th minute of play. 44 minutes into the match, Gösta Bolander notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of FC STEAUA's Augustin Nistor. Augustin Nistor was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in FC STEAUA's zone, Gösta Bolander stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Augustin Nistor came out of the goal and Gösta Bolander tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gösta Bolander made a kick off. Nicodim Crașovan got his second yellow card in the match during the 53rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 54th match minute, FC STEAUA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicodim Crașovan to maneuver through the defense. Aristide Bălcescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Augustin Nistor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gösta Bolander's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 59thth minute, Augustin Nistor skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Aristide Bălcescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augustin Nistor having to interfere. In the 64th minute, Mihnea Muscă got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gösta Bolander received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Augustin Nistor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aristide Bălcescu in the 69th minute of play forced FC STEAUA's goalkeeper Augustin Nistor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maxim Miclea in the 73rd minute of play forced FC Ripensia Timișoara's goalkeeper Horaţiu Daimacă to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After recieving a nice pass, FC STEAUA's Moise Brumaru tried to score from far away in the 77th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Horaţiu Daimacă showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mihnea Muscă, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Gösta Bolander might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Augustin Nistor. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gösta Bolander ran back to his position shaking his head. FC Ripensia Timișoara's Horaţiu Daimacă played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mihnea Muscă in the 83rd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mihnea Muscă in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Horaţiu Daimacă prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 89 minutes of play, FC STEAUA's Mihnea Muscă made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Horaţiu Daimacă was left in no man's land by his defense there! Mihnea Muscă blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Horaţiu Daimacă having to make a save. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched FC Ripensia Timișoara eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
