The SS Ionatan Timisoara fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gigi Hrușcă should have stopped the shot. Pablo Izar might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gigi Hrușcă. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pablo Izar ran back to his position shaking his head. Sever Ortacu took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gigi Hrușcă. Gigi Hrușcă dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. In the 41st minute, Nichifor Negură made a precise shot to the right of Gigi Hrușcă. SS Ionatan Timisoara's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. 44 minutes into the match, SS Ionatan Timisoara's goal looked a bit too open when Nichifor Negură came free, but Gigi Hrușcă reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half BlackSquad were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Petru Cocea during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of BlackSquad booed when SS Ionatan Timisoara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Petru Cocea didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Pablo Izar kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Gigi Hrușcă. That made the score 0-6 in the 66 minute of play.
