Spectators: 7228 (Terracing: 5628, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 100) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Emil Stancu started the match with the kick off. Eliodor Orășan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eusebiu Botgros in the 3rd minute of play. In the 7th minute, Mihnea Barbăsură reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Eliodor Orășan. The goal made the score 2-0. In the 11th play minute Eusebiu Botgros came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Eliodor Orășan. 3-0. Emil Stancu hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Eliodor Pietreanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emil Stancu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eliodor Orășan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eusebiu Botgros in the 30th minute. Eliodor Orășan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mihnea Barbăsură, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Eliodor Orășan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mihnea Barbăsură, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to UNIVERSITATEA CRAIOVA getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Denis Orghidan hit a great ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mihnea Barbăsură was the one to do the kick off. Cristur's Eliodor Orășan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mihnea Barbăsură in the 52nd minute of play. Mugur Achimescu hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Codruț Balotă fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eliodor Pietreanu having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mihnea Barbăsură in the 63rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eliodor Orășan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emil Stancu in the 65th minute of play forced UNIVERSITATEA CRAIOVA's goalkeeper Eliodor Pietreanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Codruț Balotă got free with Eliodor Pietreanu in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Codruț Balotă managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cristur's supporters rose to their feet, but Codruț Balotă was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eliodor Pietreanu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 73 played minutes UNIVERSITATEA CRAIOVA got a freekick which was hit by Constantin Curăreanu. After 81 minutes, Mihnea Barbăsură made it 4-1 with a short kick to the right side. Cristur's Eliodor Orășan tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. If Codruț Balotă had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mihnea Barbăsură sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. For all the effort they put into the match, the Cristur players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for UNIVERSITATEA CRAIOVA.
