After having played for 3 minutes, Iordache Iorda managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alin Fc's supporters crossed their fingers, but Iordache Iorda was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Steaua FC Iasi's zone, Tudor Astafiei stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marian Popoiu came out of the goal and Tudor Astafiei tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vasile Colin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Costică Porumbescu made a huge save. Tudor Astafiei fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marian Popoiu having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Tudor Astafiei managed to get in a good position for a shot. Alin Fc's supporters rose to their feet, but Tudor Astafiei was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marian Popoiu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Costică Porumbescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisc Dinculescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. If Tudor Astafiei had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 26 played minutes Steaua FC Iasi got a freekick which was hit by Ferdinand Elefteriu. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 30th minute of the game. One of Steaua FC Iasi:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Alin Fc:s goal. In the 33rd minute there was a penalty for Alin Fc. Ovidiu Jităreanu stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Marian Popoiu. 0-2. Vasile Colin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Costică Porumbescu made a huge save. Paul Grama hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. In the 61st match minute, Steaua FC Iasi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristian Horia to maneuver through the defense. Alin Fc's Costică Porumbescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ionel Manolescu in the 65th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paul Grama in the 66th minute of play forced Steaua FC Iasi's goalkeeper Marian Popoiu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 70 minutes, Paul Grama managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tudor Astafiei blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marian Popoiu having to make a save. If Vasile Colin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
