Spectators: 7550 (Terracing: 5664, Seating: 1736, VIP seats: 150) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Narcis Ştirbu took the kick off in the first half of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marcu Vladimirescu during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 9th minute, Biohazard Galati's Narcis Ştirbu dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Sergiu Mihăilă made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vasile Colin in the 14th minute of play. Virgil Arieșan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Marian Popoiu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Virgil Arieșan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sergiu Mihăilă showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ionel Manolescu in the 25th minute of the match. Virgil Arieșan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 30 minutes into the game, Martin Cumpanașu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Steaua FC Iasi's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Biohazard Galati the free kick. Martin Cumpanașu kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. In the 32nd minute, Damian Bobeica left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Biohazard Galati fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Virgil Arieșan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Marian Popoiu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Martin Cumpanașu got his second yellow card in the match during the 39th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Martin Cumpanașu kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. When Toader Rednic came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Biohazard Galati fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Toader Rednic couldn't finish the play. If Damian Bobeica had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Steaua FC Iasi booed when Biohazard Galati was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcu Vladimirescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Steaua FC Iasi getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Lucrețiu Mercescu hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Steaua FC Iasi's zone, Toader Rednic stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marian Popoiu came out of the goal and Toader Rednic tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Biohazard Galati made a substitution. Aurelian Tincu replaced Anton Nistorescu. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vasile Colin to make the kick off. In the 57th match minute, Biohazard Galati was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcu Vladimirescu to maneuver through the defense. Damian Bobeica received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Marian Popoiu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damian Bobeica in the 68th minute of play forced Steaua FC Iasi's goalkeeper Marian Popoiu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Virgil Arieșan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 80th minute Damian Bobeica shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marian Popoiu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dumitru Săvescu in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marian Popoiu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 83rd minute, Damian Bobeica got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Virgil Arieșan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Biohazard Galati's supporters rose to their feet, but Virgil Arieșan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marian Popoiu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Narcis Mihădaș blasted a shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marian Popoiu having to make a save. Mugur Stanomir's late challenge caught a Steaua FC Iasi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mugur Stanomir helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Biohazard Galati's Mugur Stanomir got a free kick in the 99th minute. With a little luck, Biohazard Galati's Sergiu Mihăilă got control of the ball when Maxim Mîțu tried to sneak it across the goal line.
