Florin Cornea started the match with the kick off. The attack was good, but when Afonsinho Mangueira in the 3rd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. The supporters of Alex Team MZ booed when Atletico Iasi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Florin Cornea didn't get a good kick on the ball. 18 minutes into the match, Atletico Iasi's goalkeeper Petrică Strungă had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Afonsinho Mangueira. Toader Ene kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. The audience held their breath when Ilie Uncuţă in the 21st minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Petrică Strungă's left hand side. Afonsinho Mangueira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Petrică Strungă made a huge save. Bogdan Gligor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marian Gavruță having to interfere. Petrică Strungă stood somewhat misplaced when Afonsinho Mangueira came free in front of goal and shot 2-0 to the left of him in the 36 minute. 47 minutes into the game, Atletico Iasi's Florin Cornea nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marian Gavruță made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Afonsinho Mangueira was the one to do the kick off. Petrică Strungă showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Afonsinho Mangueira in the 54th minute of the match. After 55 minutes, Afonsinho Mangueira made it 3-1 with a short kick to the right side. Atletico Iasi's Petrică Strungă tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Akis Symeonatos in the 60th minute of play forced Atletico Iasi's goalkeeper Petrică Strungă to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marian Gavruță came out of the goal in the 65th minute to try and stop a shot by Atletico Iasi's Iulian Chircu. But to his dismay, Iulian Chircu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. Marian Gavruță stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Florin Cornea's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. After 69 minutes, Cezar Comișel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Alex Team MZ and the Atletico Iasi players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Atletico Iasi booed when Alex Team MZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cezar Comișel didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Akis Symeonatos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 75th minute of the game. One of Alex Team MZ:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Atletico Iasi:s goal. After a defensive mix-up in Alex Team MZ's zone, Florin Cornea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marian Gavruță came out of the goal and Florin Cornea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alex Team MZ's defense didn't have a chance, in the 91st minute, when Florin Cornea scored to the left of an out of position Marian Gavruță, making the score, 3-4. Atletico Iasi's Petrică Strungă played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afonsinho Mangueira in the 98th minute of play.
