Spectators: 7499 (Terracing: 5625, Seating: 1725, VIP seats: 149) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Nechifor Ştefănoiu got the match started through his kick off. In the 3rdth minute of the game Nistor Jecu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sudrigi's Cazimir Angheloiu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Dorin Pumnu fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sudrigi's protests and gave Dorin Pumnu a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of FC STEAUA-BTF booed when Sudrigi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dorin Pumnu didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Nistor Jecu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Sudrigi's Ioan Tomoioagă got a free kick in the 7th minute. In the 11th minute, George Pânzariu made a precise shot to the right of Ilie Geoană. FC STEAUA-BTF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Horaţiu Enache recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Horaţiu Enache in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cazimir Angheloiu saved Sudrigi from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, George Pânzariu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sudrigi's supporters rose to their feet, but George Pânzariu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ilie Geoană breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 26th minute, FC STEAUA-BTF's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after George Pânzariu fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. George Pânzariu took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ilie Geoană. Ilie Geoană dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. In the 35th minute of the match Petruț Dănășel shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cazimir Angheloiu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Ilie Geoană showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nechifor Ştefănoiu in the 38th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Sudrigi's zone, Nistor Jecu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cazimir Angheloiu came out of the goal and Nistor Jecu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 45th minute, Horaţiu Enache hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Horaţiu Enache made the kick off in the second half. When Ioan Tomoioagă was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 53 minutes had been played. In the 53rd minute, Ioan Tomoioagă hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cazimir Angheloiu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Horaţiu Enache in the 62nd minute of play. After 64 minutes, Vintilă Covaci mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sudrigi and the FC STEAUA-BTF players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 63rd minute of the game. One of Sudrigi:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of FC STEAUA-BTF:s goal. Cazimir Angheloiu had in the 66thth minute some difficulties stopping Dorin Ponta's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. A collision led to Sudrigi getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Nechifor Ştefănoiu hit a great ball. Nechifor Ştefănoiu's late challenge caught a FC STEAUA-BTF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nechifor Ştefănoiu helped the player get up and apologised. Nechifor Ştefănoiu kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. In the 72nd minute, Horaţiu Enache got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Iosif Ailioaiei fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cazimir Angheloiu having to interfere. After 75 played minutes Sudrigi got a freekick which was hit by Nechifor Ştefănoiu. Through an outstanding action, after 80 minutes, Cazimir Angheloiu successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. When Sorin Șişman fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sudrigi's protests and gave Sorin Șişman a yellow card for diving instead. In the 81st minute, Sorin Șişman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the FC STEAUA-BTF defense, George Pânzariu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ilie Geoană. The FC STEAUA-BTF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ilie Geoană should have stopped the shot. When Fabian Brătescu fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sudrigi's protests and gave Fabian Brătescu a yellow card for diving instead. After 87 played minutes Sudrigi got a freekick which was hit by Fabian Brătescu. Cazimir Angheloiu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Horaţiu Enache in the 96th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Horaţiu Enache in the 97th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cazimir Angheloiu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 98th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sudrigi's goalkeeper Cazimir Angheloiu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The Sudrigi players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
