Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Eusebiu Puiu started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Mihnea Erbașu came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by FC STEAUA-BTF's Iosif Ailioaiei. But to his dismay, Iosif Ailioaiei quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The supporters of FC STEAUA-BTF booed when Cornetu CS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ionel Aanuţei didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 10th minute of the match Dorin Ponta shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mihnea Erbașu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Eusebiu Puiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. FC STEAUA-BTF's Ilie Geoană played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ionel Aanuţei in the 15th minute of play. Mihnea Erbașu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iosif Ailioaiei, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Eric Minteuan was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 22nd minute. Cornetu CS's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Iustinian Todea managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cornetu CS's supporters rose to their feet, but Iustinian Todea was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ilie Geoană breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 26 minutes into the match, Eusebiu Puiu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ilie Geoană. FC STEAUA-BTF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eusebiu Puiu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After having played for 32 minutes, Iustinian Todea managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cornetu CS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Iustinian Todea was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mihnea Erbașu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Horaţiu Enache, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. In the 37th minute Horaţiu Enache shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mihnea Erbașu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eusebiu Puiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 48 minutes, Nistor Jecu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC STEAUA-BTF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nistor Jecu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Horaţiu Enache made a kick off. If Eusebiu Puiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 57th minute Ionel Aanuţei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ilie Geoană saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in FC STEAUA-BTF's zone, Ionel Aanuţei stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ilie Geoană came out of the goal and Ionel Aanuţei tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 60thth minute of the game Eusebiu Puiu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC STEAUA-BTF's Ilie Geoană was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 70th minute, Nistor Jecu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mihnea Erbașu was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. 73 minutes into the match, Iosif Ailioaiei had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mihnea Erbașu. Cornetu CS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Iosif Ailioaiei was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. Eric Minteuan kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. A hard shot by Dorin Ponta from long distance, 77 minutes into the match, got Mihnea Erbașu's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 82nd minute, Horaţiu Enache fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Mihnea Erbașu, passed just outside the right post. The audience was convinced that Iustinian Todea's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ilie Geoană was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. Cazimir Mândrilă struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Ilie Geoană didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cornetu CS. 93 minutes into the game, Cazimir Mândrilă was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cornetu CS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC STEAUA-BTF the free kick. After a rather tough play, Cornetu CS's Cazimir Mândrilă got a free kick in the 93rd minute. When Mihăiţă Mocanu fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC STEAUA-BTF's protests and gave Mihăiţă Mocanu a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to FC STEAUA-BTF getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Mihăiţă Mocanu hit a great ball. FC STEAUA-BTF were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Cornetu CS's much stronger midfield.
