Cristi Zafiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Grigore Nenițescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of FC CFR Cluj booed when Granari was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valeriu Angheluță didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edgar Zdrehuş might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eusebiu Pârvan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edgar Zdrehuş ran back to his position shaking his head. After 17 played minutes FC CFR Cluj got a freekick which was hit by Toader Nedelea. Grigore Nenițescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristi Zafiu in the 24th minute of the match. 26 minutes into the match, FC CFR Cluj's goal looked a bit too open when Edgar Zdrehuş came free, but Eusebiu Pârvan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 32 minutes, Cristi Zafiu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC CFR Cluj's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristi Zafiu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Toader Nedelea managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC CFR Cluj's supporters rose to their feet, but Toader Nedelea was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Grigore Nenițescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Cristi Zafiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 38th match minute, Granari was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valeriu Angheluță to maneuver through the defense. Edgar Zdrehuş sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eusebiu Pârvan showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 71st minute, FC CFR Cluj's Cristi Zafiu dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-1. When Granari's Mugur Nițisor in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 96th match minute, FC CFR Cluj was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Denis Duca to maneuver through the defense. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. FC CFR Cluj had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
