Nistor Jecu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Grigore Nenițescu having to interfere. Iosif Ailioaiei sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nistor Jecu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Grigore Nenițescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 12th minute, Horaţiu Enache hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Petruț Dănășel hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. 15 minutes into the match, Granari's Ferdinand Bălcescu broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After having played for 18 minutes, Mugur Nițisor managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Granari's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mugur Nițisor was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 19 minutes into the match, FC STEAUA-BTF's goal looked a bit too open when Edgar Zdrehuş came free, but Ilie Geoană reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ilie Geoană didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edgar Zdrehuş went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgar Zdrehuş in the 26th minute of play forced FC STEAUA-BTF's goalkeeper Ilie Geoană to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Mihăiţă Mocanu fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC STEAUA-BTF's protests and gave Mihăiţă Mocanu a yellow card for diving instead. Mihăiţă Mocanu hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. In the 31st minute Edgar Zdrehuş shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ilie Geoană saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Nistor Jecu came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the FC STEAUA-BTF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nistor Jecu couldn't finish the play. In the 34th match minute, Granari was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valeriu Angheluță to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Granari's Cristian Mircescu got a free kick in the 36th minute. A nice corner shot did that Dorin Ponta got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Grigore Nenițescu quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After a defensive mix-up in FC STEAUA-BTF's zone, Mugur Nițisor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ilie Geoană came out of the goal and Mugur Nițisor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nistor Jecu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Grigore Nenițescu having to make a save. The FC STEAUA-BTF players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Granari were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edgar Zdrehuş to make the kick off. Grigore Nenițescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Horaţiu Enache, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Nistor Jecu managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC STEAUA-BTF's supporters rose to their feet, but Nistor Jecu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Grigore Nenițescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. FC STEAUA-BTF's Nistor Jecu got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Horaţiu Enache struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Grigore Nenițescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC STEAUA-BTF. An unexpectedly hard shot by Horaţiu Enache in the 64th minute of play forced Granari's goalkeeper Grigore Nenițescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Horaţiu Enache scored 1-1 in the 68th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Grigore Nenițescu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Nistor Jecu scored 2-1 in the 75th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Grigore Nenițescu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Edgar Zdrehuş fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ilie Geoană having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Granari's Ilie Geoană threw himself towards the right post 89 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Edgar Zdrehuş, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Edgar Zdrehuş had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Grigore Nenițescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Horaţiu Enache in the 99th minute of the match. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
