The Cirnesti fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Liviu Boieraș should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Sanatatea FC's Leonard Doloman got a free kick in the 25th minute. After having played for 31 minutes, Grigore Dobrițoiu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sanatatea FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Grigore Dobrițoiu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 33rd minute, Grigore Dobrițoiu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sanatatea FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. With a little luck, Cirnesti's Liviu Boieraș got control of the ball when Grigore Dobrițoiu tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sebastian Stârcea in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Liviu Boieraș saved Cirnesti from getting behind. Eusebiu Urdea recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sanatatea FC's Mădălin Vârjean was substituted for Dorel Ducu. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Grigore Dobrițoiu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The Sanatatea FC fans' excitement grew in the 53rd match minute when Sanatatea FC's Grigore Dobrițoiu looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Liviu Boieraș prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mugur Suluțiu in the 63rd minute of play forced Cirnesti's goalkeeper Liviu Boieraș to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Petruț Şantău managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sanatatea FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Petruț Şantău was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Liviu Boieraș breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 68 minutes had been played when some careless play by Cirnesti's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Eusebiu Urdea was slow to take the kick. During this time Sanatatea FC's players had a chance to rest. In the 71st minute Grigore Dobrițoiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Liviu Boieraș saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
