Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Giurgeni's Matei Văcărescu started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Matei Văcărescu fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Giurgeni's protests and gave Matei Văcărescu a yellow card for diving instead. If Gabriel Onuț had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 8th minute, Dan Calomfirescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 11 minutes, Avram Itu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the TRICOLORUL and the Giurgeni players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Giurgeni booed when TRICOLORUL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Avram Itu didn't get a good kick on the ball. 12 minutes into the match, TRICOLORUL's goalkeeper Mihnea Crăcană had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Matei Văcărescu. In the 22nd minute, Dan Calomfirescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Giurgeni's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Lucian Bosioc in the 27th minute. Lucian Bosioc hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. A collision led to Giurgeni getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Pavel Stoicănescu hit a great ball. 42 minutes into the match, Giurgeni's Matei Văcărescu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mihnea Crăcană narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Sebastian Tilincă's late challenge caught a Giurgeni's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sebastian Tilincă helped the player get up and apologised. After 43 played minutes TRICOLORUL got a freekick which was hit by Sebastian Tilincă. Ovidiu Dancu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in TRICOLORUL's zone, Matei Văcărescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mihnea Crăcană came out of the goal and Matei Văcărescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gabriel Onuț was the one to do the kick off. 55 minutes into the game, Matei Văcărescu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Mihnea Crăcană was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ovidiu Dancu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mihnea Crăcană having to interfere. Ovidiu Dancu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Liviu Busuioc charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Liviu Busuioc the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 70th minute, Liviu Busuioc hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Giurgeni's Matei Văcărescu in the 73rd minute got a chance for a shot 73rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye TRICOLORUL's goalie prevented a goal. After a rather tough play, TRICOLORUL's Romeo Dincă got a free kick in the 74th minute. After having played for 75 minutes, Matei Văcărescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Giurgeni's supporters crossed their fingers, but Matei Văcărescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 79thth minute of the game Matei Văcărescu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but TRICOLORUL's Mihnea Crăcană was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Matei Văcărescu in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mihnea Crăcană prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in TRICOLORUL's zone, Ovidiu Dancu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mihnea Crăcană came out of the goal and Ovidiu Dancu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Matei Văcărescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mihnea Crăcană having to interfere. Mihnea Crăcană showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ovidiu Dancu in the 91st minute of the match. 92 minutes into the match, TRICOLORUL's goal looked a bit too open when Matei Văcărescu came free, but Mihnea Crăcană reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 94th minute, Ovidiu Dancu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mihnea Crăcană was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Giurgeni's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
