Doru Bădiță stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vali Stoicescu's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. In the 18th minute, Vasile Boc hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Soimii Negrii Bucuresti defense, Silviu Braia kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Doru Bădiță. Aristide Rainea in the 45thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Laurențiu Mardarie, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Aurelian Văcărescu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Laurențiu Mardarie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aristide Rainea, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Aristide Rainea recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Laurențiu Mardarie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aristide Rainea in the 54th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aurelian Văcărescu in the 62nd minute of play forced NightOwls's goalkeeper Laurențiu Mardarie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 64th minute Felix Carabulea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Laurențiu Mardarie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Aristide Rainea came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Soimii Negrii Bucuresti fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aristide Rainea couldn't finish the play. NightOwls's Laurențiu Mardarie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aurelian Văcărescu in the 79th minute of play. In the 83rd minute, Ovidiu Apetroaiei hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Albert Bologan's late challenge caught a Soimii Negrii Bucuresti's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Albert Bologan helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to NightOwls getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Albert Bologan hit a great ball. In the 86th minute of the match Adam Anastasiu sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Laurențiu Mardarie skillfully saved the ball. Marian Rioşanu helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of NightOwls booed when Soimii Negrii Bucuresti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marian Rioşanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 97th minute of the game. One of Soimii Negrii Bucuresti:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of NightOwls:s goal. Doru Bădiță had in the 99thth minute some difficulties stopping Bogdan Stejaru's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Doru Bădiță didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bogdan Stejaru went, in the 99th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. When the final whistle went the supporters of NightOwls were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Soimii Negrii Bucuresti side.
