All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dumitru Vrabie made a kick off. A collision led to Universitatea Craiova getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. When Laurențiu Burdulea fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CVUCS POLI's protests and gave Laurențiu Burdulea a yellow card for diving instead. The Universitatea Craiova fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. After 87 minutes of play, Universitatea Craiova's Sergiu Panțâru made it 5-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Valeriu Răchită was left in no man's land by his defense there! Adam Banica was a little too slow when Dumitru Vrabie got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 95th minute. The score was now 5-2.
