In the 5th minute Emil Butuc shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Viorel Pașcalău saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Liviu Gâdea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Lucrețiu Puric tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 11 minutes of play, Deportivo Calarasi's Marcu Dragalina made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Viorel Pașcalău was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Octavian Atodiresei fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC MARIO's protests and gave Octavian Atodiresei a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Deportivo Calarasi booed when FC MARIO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Octavian Atodiresei didn't get a good kick on the ball. Viorel Pașcalău made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emil Butuc in the 16th minute. Emil Butuc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Viorel Pașcalău tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Viorel Pașcalău showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emil Butuc in the 33rd minute of the match. Viorel Pașcalău showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emil Butuc, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Marcu Dragalina blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Viorel Pașcalău having to make a save. Viorel Pașcalău stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Emil Butuc's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. After a rather tough play, FC MARIO's Dorel Ciucă got a free kick in the 45th minute. Marcu Dragalina struck a weak shot in the 49th minute. Viorel Pașcalău didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Deportivo Calarasi. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Marcu Dragalina managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deportivo Calarasi's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcu Dragalina was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Viorel Pașcalău breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 58 minutes FC MARIO's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Damian Gârneț who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Deportivo Calarasi's corner Damian Gârneț fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Viorel Pașcalău quite easily take care of the ball. Emil Butuc's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Viorel Pașcalău read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. Iurie Cumpanașu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Lucrețiu Puric tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Viorel Pașcalău stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Emil Butuc's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. Octavian Atodiresei was shown his second yellow card after 64 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Octavian Atodiresei kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Marcu Dragalina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Viorel Pașcalău having to interfere. Viorel Pașcalău made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcu Dragalina in the 70th minute of play. Emil Butuc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Viorel Pașcalău tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marcu Dragalina received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Viorel Pașcalău tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Viorel Pașcalău made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emil Butuc in the 94th minute of play. In the 95th minute, Florin Crașovan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 97 minutes, Marcu Dragalina managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Deportivo Calarasi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcu Dragalina was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the FC MARIO players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Deportivo Calarasi.
