Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Liviu Dumitrana started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. FC GETICA's defense didn't have a chance, in the 3rd minute, when Mihail Tărău scored to the left of an out of position Gică Frunză, making the score, 1-0. Ilie Păsărin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marius Spineanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dumitru Timaru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With his leg Gică Frunză managed to avoid a goal in the 14thth minute, when The Squad's Mihail Tărău fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 16th minute, Mihail Tărău left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The The Squad fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. FC GETICA's Gică Frunză proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save FC GETICA from getting a goal against them. Liviu Dumitrana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gică Frunză having to interfere. In the 22nd minute, Liviu Dumitrana fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Gică Frunză, passed just outside the right post. 27 minutes into the match, FC GETICA's goalkeeper Gică Frunză had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mihail Tărău. The Squad's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC GETICA the free kick. After 35 played minutes The Squad got a freekick which was hit by Vasile Ogică. If Dumitru Timaru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Liviu Dumitrana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dumitru Timaru was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to The Squad getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Costică Tătaru hit a great ball. Gică Frunză took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Liviu Dumitrana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dumitru Timaru's late challenge caught a The Squad's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dumitru Timaru helped the player get up and apologised. Mihail Tărău sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gică Frunză showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mihail Tărău, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. The supporters of FC GETICA booed when The Squad was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silviu Dulfu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mihail Tărău in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gică Frunză prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Liviu Dumitrana received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Gică Frunză tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gică Frunză made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mihail Tărău in the 86th minute of play. After having played for 90 minutes, Mihail Tărău managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Squad's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mihail Tărău was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Squad's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
