Rapid CFR's Horaţiu Mavrogheni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valer Iulian in the 7th minute of play. 1-0 became the score in the 9th minute when Valer Iulian elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 13 minutes into the game, Rapid CFR's Răzvan Onitiu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Denis Nicopol made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. When Manuel Bărbătescu fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ProStatic's protests and gave Manuel Bărbătescu a yellow card for diving instead. In the 17th minute, one of ProStatic:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for ProStatic. In the 19th minute there was a penalty for Rapid CFR. Anton Dobrin stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Denis Nicopol. 1-2. Iustin Junilă sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Răzvan Onitiu came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Rapid CFR fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Răzvan Onitiu couldn't finish the play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bogdan Goșa to strike the kick off in the second half. Horaţiu Mavrogheni stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Valer Iulian's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. Rapid CFR's Răzvan Onitiu got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 58th minute, Emil Ţăranu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Răzvan Onitiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Horia Hapaina kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Anton Dobrin was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 62nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 66 minutes into the match, Rapid CFR's Bogdan Goșa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Denis Nicopol narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 71 minutes into the match, ProStatic's Valer Iulian sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Horaţiu Mavrogheni narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Denis Nicopol made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Răzvan Onitiu sent off a good shot on target. Valer Iulian fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Horaţiu Mavrogheni having to interfere. Horaţiu Mavrogheni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iustin Junilă in the 78th minute of play. 80 minutes into the match, Rapid CFR's Răzvan Onitiu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Denis Nicopol narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Valer Iulian fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Horaţiu Mavrogheni having to interfere. Iustin Junilă struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Horaţiu Mavrogheni didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ProStatic.
