With a little luck, Rapid CFR's Horaţiu Mavrogheni got control of the ball when Mihăiţă Mîțu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Horaţiu Mavrogheni had great luck who in the 6thth minute grab hold of the ball when Felix Fărcășan from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Fărcășan in the 16th minute of play forced Rapid CFR's goalkeeper Horaţiu Mavrogheni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 20th minute of the match, Felix Fărcășan tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Horaţiu Mavrogheni saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 22nd minute Felix Fărcășan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Horaţiu Mavrogheni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Mihăiţă Mîțu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mihăiţă Mîțu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Horaţiu Mavrogheni having to interfere. Horaţiu Mavrogheni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Fărcășan in the 37th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Felix Fărcășan made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Rapid CFR's Răzvan Onitiu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gabriel Pâslaru narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Mihăiţă Mîțu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Horaţiu Mavrogheni tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Horaţiu Mavrogheni made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Gabriel Pâslaru made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Răzvan Onitiu sent off a good shot on target. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Felix Fărcășan in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Horaţiu Mavrogheni saved Rapid CFR from getting behind. If Mihăiţă Mîțu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Felix Fărcășan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Horaţiu Mavrogheni having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Felix Fărcășan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Axi Barbershop's supporters rose to their feet, but Felix Fărcășan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Horaţiu Mavrogheni breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rapid CFR's goalkeeper Horaţiu Mavrogheni, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mihăiţă Mîțu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Horaţiu Mavrogheni having to interfere. Gabriel Pâslaru showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bogdan Goșa in the 93rd minute of the match. Răzvan Onitiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gabriel Pâslaru having to interfere.
