Spectators: 7329 (Terracing: 5500, Seating: 1729, VIP seats: 100) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Berbesu's Ştefan Răzvan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emanuel Videanu in the 5th minute of play. When Gheorghe Stroe fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Berbesu's protests and gave Gheorghe Stroe a yellow card for diving instead. 13 minutes into the game, Iulian Mihuleac was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Berbesu's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Covrigi CSS the free kick. A collision led to Berbesu getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Iulian Mihuleac hit a great ball. In the 15th minute Codrin Berca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ştefan Răzvan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gheorghe Stroe hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Codrin Berca's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ştefan Răzvan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. When Covrigi CSS's Emanuel Videanu in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Ştefan Răzvan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emanuel Videanu in the 31st minute of play. When Cezar Firoiu came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Berbesu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cezar Firoiu couldn't finish the play. Corneliu Măgură took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cezar Firoiu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 35 minutes into the match, Berbesu's goalkeeper Ştefan Răzvan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emanuel Videanu. Viorel Alexiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ştefan Răzvan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Ştefan Răzvan came out of the goal and Emanuel Videanu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Viorel Alexiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Viorel Alexiu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Emanuel Videanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Ştefan Răzvan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Răzvan Grigore managed to get in a good position for a shot. Covrigi CSS's supporters rose to their feet, but Răzvan Grigore was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The supporters of Covrigi CSS booed when Berbesu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iulian Mihuleac didn't get a good kick on the ball. Răzvan Grigore sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience was convinced that Emanuel Videanu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ştefan Răzvan was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game. Ştefan Răzvan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Răzvan Grigore in the 94th minute of play. Viorel Alexiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Ştefan Răzvan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Covrigi CSS's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
