The referee ignored Ciceul's protests and gave Petre Păltineanu a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Ciceul's Petre Păltineanu got a free kick in the 5th minute. A collision led to Ciceul getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Denis Micescu hit a great ball. Eric Gârleanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sabin Chioreanu in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ciprian Petru prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Cristian Horațiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sabin Chioreanu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ciprian Petru made an important save on a dangerous shot by Manuel Ghionea in the 22nd minute. With a little luck, Ciceul's Ciprian Petru got control of the ball when Manuel Ghionea tried to sneak it across the goal line. Manuel Sabău charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Manuel Sabău the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 28th minute, Manuel Ghionea left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Jugani fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sabin Chioreanu got free with Ciprian Petru in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 33 minutes into the game, Liviu Oroian was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ciceul's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jugani the free kick. When the match had been going on for 34 minutes, Jugani's Sabin Chioreanu got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Ciprian Petru. The audience thought a goal was coming when Manuel Ghionea got free with Ciprian Petru in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ciprian Petru stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Manuel Ghionea's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. 43 minutes into the match, Eric Gârleanu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ciprian Petru. Ciceul's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eric Gârleanu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sabin Chioreanu was the one to do the kick off. In the 57th minute, Denis Papaiani hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jugani's Ferdinand Armanca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Denis Micescu in the 61st minute of play. Ferdinand Armanca made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Horațiu in the 64th minute. Manuel Sabău sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 67 minutes into the match, Jugani's goal looked a bit too open when Denis Micescu came free, but Ferdinand Armanca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sabin Chioreanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 73rd minute, Manuel Ghionea got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 85th minute of the match Petrică Dabija sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ciprian Petru skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sabin Chioreanu in the 87th minute of play forced Ciceul's goalkeeper Ciprian Petru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Manuel Ghionea might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ciprian Petru. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Manuel Ghionea ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Ciceul's zone, Manuel Ghionea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ciprian Petru came out of the goal and Manuel Ghionea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 91 minutes into the match, Jugani's goalkeeper Ferdinand Armanca had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Horațiu. Jugani's Sabin Chioreanu got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ciprian Petru showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sabin Chioreanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. Ciceul's Ciprian Petru played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Ghionea in the 97th minute of play. Jugani's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
