In the 4thth minute of the game Horia Domide who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vaduva Neagra's Cristinel Ulici was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Viitorul Constanta booed when Vaduva Neagra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexandru Socoriceanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vaduva Neagra's Petruț Moisescu got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Doru Vornicescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Petru Baican took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Șerban Mincu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Vaduva Neagra getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Șerban Mincu hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Aurelian Roşca managed to get in a good position for a shot. Viitorul Constanta's supporters rose to their feet, but Aurelian Roşca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristinel Ulici breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 29th minute, Doru Vornicescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Horia Domide to make the kick off. Horia Domide received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Cristinel Ulici tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
