If Doru Vornicescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 7 minutes into the game, Fabian Zgaroi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vajla's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Viitorul Constanta the free kick. Fabian Zgaroi kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Virgil Caragea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Horia Domide in the 9th minute of play. In the 10th match minute, Viitorul Constanta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aurelian Ghișerel to maneuver through the defense. Vajla's Virgil Caragea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Horia Domide in the 13th minute of play. Virgil Caragea made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Doru Vornicescu sent off a good shot on target. Doru Vornicescu's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Virgil Caragea firmly grabbed it by the left post. Petru Baican made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Lițu in the 21st minute of play. Horia Domide fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Virgil Caragea having to interfere. Virgil Caragea made an important save on a dangerous shot by Doru Vornicescu in the 27th minute. In the 35th minute, Eliodor Achifoaiei ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Petru Baican was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 41 minutes into the match, Vajla's David Lițu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Petru Baican narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Petru Baican took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Lițu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aurelian Roşca hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. When Vajla's David Lițu, in the 44th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Vajla. After the first half Vajla were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Horia Domide was the one to do the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dorel Boboc during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 53rd minute Horia Domide shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Virgil Caragea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Horia Domide fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Virgil Caragea having to interfere. Doru Vornicescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Virgil Caragea having to interfere. Tudor Budișteanu charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tudor Budișteanu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 58 played minutes Vajla got a freekick which was hit by Tudor Budișteanu. Horia Domide sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Doru Vornicescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Virgil Caragea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 70 minutes into the match, Horia Domide notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Vajla's Virgil Caragea. Virgil Caragea was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 74th minute Horia Domide shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Virgil Caragea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. David Lițu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Petru Baican tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Doru Vornicescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Virgil Caragea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. David Lițu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 88 played minutes Viitorul Constanta got a freekick which was hit by Iacob Țepelea. Mihail Ibrișin hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Marcel Stolniciu shot from long distance in the 91st minute, but Petru Baican was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. If Eliodor Achifoaiei had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mihail Ibrișin took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Virgil Caragea. Virgil Caragea dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Viitorul Constanta's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
