Radu Bălanescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcos Zumelzu in the 17th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Manuel Ghinescu in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Radu Bălanescu saved BlackWolf from getting behind. 20 minutes into the game, Octav Baștină recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Emanuele De Simone. Octav Baștină showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. When Liviu Pârvan fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored BlackWolf's protests and gave Liviu Pârvan a yellow card for diving instead. In the 23rd minute, Liviu Pârvan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Radu Bălanescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manuel Ghinescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Manuel Ghinescu to make the kick off.
