Sever Mustățea took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 3rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gavril Manole. Sabisa's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Horea Cristoiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Albert Berceanu's late challenge caught a F.C. CARTIER's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Albert Berceanu helped the player get up and apologised. In the 7th minute, Albert Berceanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gavril Manole made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucian Frânculescu in the 8th minute of play. After a rather tough play, F.C. CARTIER's Mircea Gheorghe got a free kick in the 12th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Sabisa's zone, Lucian Frânculescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gavril Manole came out of the goal and Lucian Frânculescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Horea Cristoiu came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the F.C. CARTIER fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Horea Cristoiu couldn't finish the play. Albert Berceanu hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Doru Găvănescu was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 19th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Gavril Manole made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Horea Cristoiu in the 20th minute of play. Horea Cristoiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Horea Cristoiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Gavril Manole tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Sabisa getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Maxim Șipoș hit a great ball. In the 27th minute, Doru Găvănescu sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Sabisa's Gavril Manole didn't even have to move. Horea Cristoiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gavril Manole having to interfere. Gavril Manole made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Horea Cristoiu in the 32nd minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Horea Cristoiu made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Horea Cristoiu reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Gavril Manole. The goal made the score 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Lucian Frânculescu managed to get in a good position for a shot. F.C. CARTIER's supporters rose to their feet, but Lucian Frânculescu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gavril Manole breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in F.C. CARTIER's zone, Vali Pătrășcanu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valentin Pască came out of the goal and Vali Pătrășcanu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 63rd minute, Aron Tănasă got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 67th minute, Horea Cristoiu fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Gavril Manole, passed just outside the right post. Lucian Frânculescu scored 0-2 in the 69th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gavril Manole, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of F.C. CARTIER booed when Sabisa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aurelian Târban didn't get a good kick on the ball. 75 minutes into the match, Sabisa's goal looked a bit too open when Horea Cristoiu came free, but Gavril Manole reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 78 minutes Sabisa's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Doru Găvănescu who took care of the corner kick. A hard shot 83 in the game by Lucian Frânculescu from a close distance when the talented Gavril Manole managed to make a qualified save. Sabisa's players were relieved. An unexpectedly hard shot by Horea Cristoiu in the 90th minute of play forced Sabisa's goalkeeper Gavril Manole to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpected shot in the 91st minute by Lucian Frânculescu got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Gavril Manole made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mircea Gheorghe in the 94th minute of play. If Lucian Frânculescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Sabisa fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. F.C. CARTIER were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
