The Vorovestii fans' excitement grew in the 14th match minute when Vorovestii's Moise Aluncai looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Albert Pânzaru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Moise Aluncai in the 18th minute of play. Ernest Moga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alin Abutnăriței having to interfere. In the 21st match minute, APF ONESTI was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Răzvan Stanca to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the APF ONESTI defense, Moise Aluncai kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Albert Pânzaru. The APF ONESTI fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Albert Pânzaru should have stopped the shot. Albert Pânzaru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cornel Gâlcă in the 29th minute of play. Sorin Melentie took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 33rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Albert Pânzaru. APF ONESTI's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Moise Aluncai had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cornel Gâlcă in the 41st minute of play forced APF ONESTI's goalkeeper Albert Pânzaru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Vorovestii were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ernest Moga made a kick off. Emilian Mocanu struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Alin Abutnăriței didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for APF ONESTI. Ernest Moga might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alin Abutnăriței. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out.
