With a left leg Horia Beșleaga saved FCSB from getting behind. Horia Beșleaga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivan Dică in the 14th minute of the match. In the 21st minute, Mihai Orădan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Horia Beșleaga was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 25 minutes into the match, Oltenasii's goal looked a bit too open when Cazimir Rogozanu came free, but Cazimir Gheară reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 26th match minute, Oltenasii was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Horaţiu Barbonța to maneuver through the defense. 30 minutes into the match, Ivan Dică notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of FCSB's Horia Beșleaga. Horia Beșleaga was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Liviu Hrib blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Horia Beșleaga having to make a save. Ivan Dică received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Horia Beșleaga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 40 minutes into the match, FCSB's goal looked a bit too open when Mihai Orădan came free, but Horia Beșleaga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Horia Beșleaga didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ivan Dică went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Horia Beșleaga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mihai Orădan in the 47th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ivan Dică was the one to do the kick off. After some careless play in the FCSB defense, Ivan Dică kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Horia Beșleaga. The FCSB fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Horia Beșleaga should have stopped the shot. Ivan Dică sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Mihai Orădan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 61st minute, Ivan Dică fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Horia Beșleaga, passed just outside the right post. After 62 minutes, Mihai Orădan made it 0-5 with a short kick to the right side. FCSB's Horia Beșleaga tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. If Ivan Dică had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 70 minutes into the match, FCSB's goalkeeper Horia Beșleaga had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ivan Dică. Ivan Dică received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Horia Beșleaga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 75 minutes into the match, FCSB's goalkeeper Horia Beșleaga had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ivan Dică. Mihai Orădan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Horia Beșleaga having to make a save. Ivan Dică struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Horia Beșleaga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Oltenasii. Mihai Orădan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 86th minute, Ivan Dică fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Răzvan Bobocea's late challenge caught a Oltenasii's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Răzvan Bobocea helped the player get up and apologised. In the 87th minute, Răzvan Bobocea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 90 minutes into the match, Oltenasii's Ivan Dică sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Horia Beșleaga narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 91 minutes into the match, FCSB's goal looked a bit too open when Mihai Orădan came free, but Horia Beșleaga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of FCSB booed when Oltenasii was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gavril Drogoreanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Oltenasii's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
