The Warriors fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. After some careless play in the Warriors defense, Viorel Vlăsiu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cătălin Horia. The Warriors fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cătălin Horia should have stopped the shot. Sorin Smarandache didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Panait Răuţă went, in the 45th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rareș Popoiu to make the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Dan Gheban kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Sorin Smarandache. That made the score 1-4 in the 74 minute of play. F.C. Buzau's Sorin Smarandache proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save F.C. Buzau from getting a goal against them. In the 80th minute, F.C. Buzau's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Costin Mantoiu fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After having played for 82 minutes, Panait Răuţă managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Warriors's supporters crossed their fingers, but Panait Răuţă was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Panait Răuţă's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sorin Smarandache was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. If Costin Mantoiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 87 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for F.C. Buzau! Sorin Smarandache went to the wrong direction when Remus Milea was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. The F.C. Buzau fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Warriors were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
