Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Iurie Purje started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Marian Boteanu made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Viorel Vlăsiu sent off a good shot on target. In the 5th minute, Viorel Vlăsiu reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Marian Boteanu. The goal made the score 1-0. Rareș Popoiu was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 8th minute. F.C. Buzau's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 9 minutes into the match, F.C. Buzau's Viorel Vlăsiu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marian Boteanu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Viorel Vlăsiu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marian Boteanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rareș Popoiu in the 13th minute of the match. Iurie Purje succeeded in the game's 15th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-1. After 19 played minutes Bucovat CS got a freekick which was hit by Șerban Geambașu. With an all-out effort, F.C. Buzau's Marian Boteanu threw himself towards the right post 22 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Rareș Popoiu, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Șerban Geambașu's late challenge caught a F.C. Buzau's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Șerban Geambașu helped the player get up and apologised. The crowd rose to their feet as Rareș Popoiu kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Marian Boteanu. That made the score 2-1 in the 28 minute of play. Marian Boteanu made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Viorel Vlăsiu sent off a good shot on target. Rareș Popoiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marian Boteanu having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bogdan Chitila in the 42nd minute of play forced F.C. Buzau's goalkeeper Sorin Smarandache to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sorin Smarandache didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bogdan Chitila went, in the 45th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rareș Popoiu made a kick off. After 52 minutes, Marin Muraru mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the F.C. Buzau and the Bucovat CS players grew even worse after the yellow card. Marin Muraru hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Lucrețiu Moarcăș kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Iurie Purje's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sorin Smarandache read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. Bogdan Chitila sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iurie Purje in the 76th minute of play forced F.C. Buzau's goalkeeper Sorin Smarandache to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Iurie Purje received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Sorin Smarandache tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Iurie Purje had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Iurie Purje struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Sorin Smarandache didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bucovat CS. When Bogdan Chitila came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Bucovat CS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bogdan Chitila couldn't finish the play. Sorin Smarandache made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bogdan Chitila in the 88th minute. Marian Boteanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Viorel Vlăsiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. F.C. Buzau had won after a very even match.
