BORSA -MM-'s supporters rose to their feet, but Nicodim Movileanu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sergiu Ignea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Unirea Alba Iulia's zone, Denis Cartianu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sergiu Ignea came out of the goal and Denis Cartianu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Nicodim Movileanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Unirea Alba Iulia's Petruț Zăgănescu in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye BORSA -MM-'s goalie prevented a goal. In the 19th match minute, BORSA -MM- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stelian Chirea to maneuver through the defense. Teodor Zgondea got his second yellow card in the match during the 21st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 22 played minutes Unirea Alba Iulia got a freekick which was hit by Teodor Zgondea. 23 minutes into the match, Nicodim Movileanu notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Unirea Alba Iulia's Sergiu Ignea. Sergiu Ignea was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 26th minute, Petruț Zăgănescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of BORSA -MM- booed when Unirea Alba Iulia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernest Dulca didn't get a good kick on the ball. Denis Cartianu scored 0-2 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sergiu Ignea, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Denis Cartianu in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sergiu Ignea saved Unirea Alba Iulia from getting behind. In the 41stth minute of the game Denis Cartianu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Unirea Alba Iulia's Sergiu Ignea was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to BORSA -MM- getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Horaţiu Loghin hit a great ball. After 44 played minutes BORSA -MM- got a freekick which was hit by Stelian Chirea. Iurie Plopan, 45 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Rareș Paraschiv fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Remus Oniga having to interfere. The Unirea Alba Iulia players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. BORSA -MM- were winning 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nicodim Movileanu was the one to do the kick off. Nicodim Movileanu struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Sergiu Ignea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for BORSA -MM-. Ciprian Oncescu hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Sabin Diaconescu kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Denis Cartianu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Sergiu Ignea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nicodim Movileanu in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sergiu Ignea saved Unirea Alba Iulia from getting behind. Denis Cartianu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Sergiu Ignea made a huge save. Denis Cartianu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Sergiu Ignea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded BORSA -MM- left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Unirea Alba Iulia.
