Dinu Stancu started the match with the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Viorel Chitimia managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC POLITEHNICA TIMISOARA's supporters rose to their feet, but Viorel Chitimia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Iordache Fărcășan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Through an outstanding action, after 7 minutes, Iordache Fărcășan successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The supporters of FC POLITEHNICA TIMISOARA booed when Wedding&Funeral Orchestra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mihăiţă Baniu didn't get a good kick on the ball. FC POLITEHNICA TIMISOARA's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Adam Tuleiu in the 19th minute. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC POLITEHNICA TIMISOARA's goalkeeper Tudor Petcu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 25 minutes into the game, Eliodor Gușatu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC POLITEHNICA TIMISOARA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wedding&Funeral Orchestra the free kick. FC POLITEHNICA TIMISOARA's Viorel Chitimia got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Wedding&Funeral Orchestra's zone, Viorel Chitimia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iordache Fărcășan came out of the goal and Viorel Chitimia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 37th minute, Mihăiţă Baniu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Wedding&Funeral Orchestra fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Viorel Chitimia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a rather tough play, FC POLITEHNICA TIMISOARA's Olimpiu Pascaru got a free kick in the 44th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Augustin Săndoi made the kick off in the second half. Augustin Săndoi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Iordache Fărcășan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Iordache Fărcășan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Augustin Săndoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Wedding&Funeral Orchestra getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Cătălin Bădilescu hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Augustin Săndoi in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Iordache Fărcășan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lucrețiu Iuzbașa kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. After 64 minutes of play, FC POLITEHNICA TIMISOARA's Viorel Chitimia made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Iordache Fărcășan was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Mihăiţă Baniu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 80 minutes into the game, Marcu Tăutu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Marcu Tăutu hit a great ball. 83 minutes had been played when some careless play by Wedding&Funeral Orchestra's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Adam Tuleiu was slow to take the kick. During this time FC POLITEHNICA TIMISOARA's players had a chance to rest. Tudor Petcu made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Mihăiţă Baniu sent off a good shot on target. If Augustin Săndoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC POLITEHNICA TIMISOARA walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
