When Constantin Domuță came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Hanzesti SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Constantin Domuță couldn't finish the play. 15 minutes into the match, FC Gloria Marasesti's goal looked a bit too open when Manuel Şendrea came free, but Gigel Pantilimon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 18 played minutes, Hanzesti SC's Valer Pavalescu shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gigel Pantilimon came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Hanzesti SC reached it. If Constantin Ghișe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 20th match minute, Hanzesti SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valer Pavalescu to maneuver through the defense. FC Gloria Marasesti's Niculae Petrin was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Rareș Jităreanu in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 28th minute, Viorel Burtescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in FC Gloria Marasesti's zone, Constantin Domuță stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gigel Pantilimon came out of the goal and Constantin Domuță tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Manuel Şendrea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Valer Pavalescu hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Rareș Jităreanu stood somewhat misplaced when Gică Harhoiu came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 42 minute. Constantin Domuță struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Gigel Pantilimon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hanzesti SC.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gică Harhoiu made a kick off. If Constantin Domuță had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Manuel Şendrea's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gigel Pantilimon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. Constantin Domuță sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Constantin Domuță was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 74th minute. Hanzesti SC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Manuel Şendrea recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in FC Gloria Marasesti's zone, Manuel Şendrea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gigel Pantilimon came out of the goal and Manuel Şendrea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gigel Pantilimon made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Constantin Domuță sent off a good shot on target. Gigel Pantilimon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manuel Şendrea in the 84th minute of the match. Constantin Domuțăs short, quick shot in the 85thth minute got Gigel Pantilimon to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Constantin Domuță received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Gigel Pantilimon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Hanzesti SC booed when FC Gloria Marasesti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Constantin Ghișe didn't get a good kick on the ball. Many of Hanzesti SC's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Hanzesti SC may have spent more time on the ball, but FC Gloria Marasesti were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
