But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mihăiţă Pavelescu couldn't finish the play. If Nicu Stoicescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Nicu Stoicescu came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Fc Luup RO fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nicu Stoicescu couldn't finish the play. In the 93rd minute Mihăiţă Pavelescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ştefan Buteanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in YUVENTUS TORINO's zone, Nicu Stoicescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ştefan Buteanu came out of the goal and Nicu Stoicescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Fc Luup RO eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
