Rareș Andrițoiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silviu Harbuz having to interfere. F.C. Anina Banat's Rareș Andrițoiu got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Olimpiu Hodorog fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pietroasele CF's protests and gave Olimpiu Hodorog a yellow card for diving instead. After 13 played minutes Pietroasele CF got a freekick which was hit by Olimpiu Hodorog. Emanuel Lozovan got in the 14th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Silviu Harbuz handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Victor Gavruță showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cosmin Tomoiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Olimpiu Hodorog was shown his second yellow card after 19 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 20th minute, Olimpiu Hodorog hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Virgil Ispir kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. 34 minutes into the match, F.C. Anina Banat's goal looked a bit too open when Lucrețiu Vâlcu came free, but Victor Gavruță reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Rareș Andrițoiu came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the F.C. Anina Banat fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rareș Andrițoiu couldn't finish the play. If Rareș Andrițoiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lucrețiu Vâlcu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Emanuel Lozovan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Silviu Harbuz was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. 63 minutes into the match, F.C. Anina Banat's goalkeeper Victor Gavruță had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lucrețiu Vâlcu. Silviu Harbuz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rareș Andrițoiu in the 65th minute of play. Lucrețiu Vâlcu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Victor Gavruță tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Pietroasele CF defense, Rareș Andrițoiu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Silviu Harbuz. The Pietroasele CF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Silviu Harbuz should have stopped the shot. Lucrețiu Vâlcu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Victor Gavruță tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lucrețiu Vâlcu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
